With respect to the squealing brakes,

Check out SIB 34 02 06. If your car is still in warranty you can probably get new pads and sensors.

I have 30000 miles on my car. No sign of rust or discoloration. They are same grey they were when got the car new. I am really surprised because all of my previous bmw's calipers looked like crap after 10000 miles.
Woo, I don't know about rustic calipers, but those avatars from *530I* are going to get me trouble. Those calipers look fine to me.

At least you never have to worry about that with Rudy's posts!

Dealer recently replaced my pads and all the noise went away, so it can be fixed, but they are starting to look a little shabby so I may have to paint.

I don't believe the calipers can rust. I'm pretty sure they are aluminum. However, the rotors can and do rust.

Anyone know how hard it is to do the duplicolor kit and get good results? I would hate to make it look worse than it already is.

Its failry simple...I used the Dup Kit and painted my calipers red when i had my X5. I say go for it.

Both the calipers and the hubs seems to loose paint and rust quite easily.

But check out your brake discs directly after a solant wash!

Some fix them really neatly, see pics.

But with winters like over here, this should be done every spring.

Do you remove the calipers from the car? Or do you mask it and paint them on the car?
