Still waiting on my 2005 525i and never noticed an option or package description that mentioned electronic folding mirrors. Any info on this would be appreciated.

There is no electronic folding aspheric mirror on MY2005 E60. We traded it for cheap gas in US Only EU and other country have those individual options.

If they add it to US cars, it'll most likely be farther down the road than the second year of production. These little additions add value to the cars after they've been out a while and make people feel better about upgrading or buying a car thats nearer to it's end-of-life.

If you think about it, they already have it working so there's no development costs associated with adding it. The only cost is the parts themselves and they'll get that back through price increases, etc.

no, the side mirrors will fold toward the body when you press the lock button on the remote because roads and parkings are so narrow and small in some countries. i'm sure cars in hk as well as other countries have this feature but not in the us of a .

Hmmm actually I dont have that feature either on my car. However, I do press (the button) and fold (the mirror) everytime I park my car.

so you mean you do have the feature but not fold by the remote, by a button inside your car, right ? i think i've seen something like it in other cars before.

If you have ever had to park your car on a German street, you would love the folding mirrors. Dennis (530E60NL) showed me how his work. Be great for any parking lot where a kid or something would have the chance to bang into them. That is one option that I would get in a heartbeat if it were available to US cars. But its Europe only for right now.

electronic doesn't mean folding. It means they can be adjusted electrically...
