I've had my car since October 2003 and I still have my temporary CA registration paper on my front windshield. My theory: Cops think my car is new unless they see me from the rear. 97K miles later and still no fix-it ticket. I probably just jinxed myself.

The guy I know just talks his way out of tickets. He never gets them thus no police officer will get fired for falsifying a report.

So he's a cop.

Do ya? I'm running tint, no front plate, and using dealer plates on the rear (all illegal in CA). They only give you a measly fix-it ticket. Been fine for the last year and my old car (2 years). Knock on wood.
Do you still use your dealer plates and for how long? Why?
Dealer never gave me a plate from day one. Always 2 plates (front and rear).

Are you talking about the actual car license plates or the plates which have dealer name on it ? Dealer never gave me their plates (plates with dealer name's on it). I only got the car license plates and dealer only installed the rear plate, I installed the front myself. In Mass., we need both front and rear car license plates.
