i know it's a safety feature/reminder but all other cars don't have this annoying, for some, chime.? well, probably this is one of the features that makes our cars unique .

I just left a MB 220 CDI (rent a car) whose seat belt chime /cry was worse, very annoying and persistent, BMW chime is an angelic sound compared to.

I'm just wondering what the story is with disabling a safety device (note, Euro NCAP give marks for written and audible warnings) and then the car goes to a new owner. He forgets to put his belt on becaue he doesn't hear a warning and gets smacked over by a Mack truck on the way home from collecting his car.

Whats the chances of that ever happening?

Good, but I wonder will u be thinking the same thing as you go through the windshield. While u are at it, you might as well disable the airbag as well.

LOL, nice post IrishEyes. Your mom and dad are doing a good job.

alohalc, will take a pic as soon as the weather gets better! Its been raining and snowing non-stop since I picked up the car.

Anyways, thanks to Iceman and skaffa for answering my question!

Ouch. Touchy nervy. Do I detect a hint if sarcasm here?
Mom and dad have nothing to so with it. They didn't introduce the law over here that fines heavily if a driver isn't belted up. Besides, there is a slight case of 'self-preservarion' in the case of an accident. I'd like to think I'd be able to walk away.
