It certainly helped! We drove the car in for what seemed like a minor repair and an hour later were informed that the transmission was failing and needed to be replaced (with a new one yet as BMW would not use a rebuilt one), at a cost of around $7500. It was to say the least a bit shocking! That along with a few other "minor" though expensive repairs has placed me in the "warranty only" group from now on!
