so i have an 08 535i and its like there's something new wrong with this damn thing every time i get in it.

this time i get a message saying the daytime running/ parking light is out. i took a look and both "halos" are out on the P/S. i'm not familiar with BMW's, this is why i'm coming to you guys

i doubt they share a bulb but what can i check before i go buy what i'm sure is a $100 bulb?

remove the round cover on the back of the headlight, which exposes the H8 bulb for the drl/angel eyes. you can buy a replacement bulb at your dealer, or even local parts store. oreillys by me had the exact osram H8 35w bulb the dealer sells.

trust me, day-running light is the least serious problem. Just make sure you buy a couple at one time. Mine 08 535i got the same problem two month later after I bought them...I think it is about $8 each.

ya i've already had to do a carbon cleaning and replace 3 injectors within the first 6 months of ownership and 6k miles. i have to cross my fingers and pray before i ever drive this thing.

 

One bulb per side - each bulb does 2 halo rings...

Actually I never get around to do a full inspection on my 535i. God knows what problems it still has...after replacing battery, replacing water pump and thermostats, BTC warning...

 

you know what funny, i took it for a drive last night and all was well. my mom gets in it today and it ran like shit, like it needed injectors again. when i got home it was fine so i can't take it in since "there's nothing wrong" but i'm going to drive the piss out of it now while it still has warranty.
this car is such a POS, my 93 supra with almost 200k on it can drive 10 hours to vegas and 10 hours back with no problems what so ever but this car can't even make it out of the garage. glad i paid so much for a car i have to be afraid to drive.
