After two months in the shop, after an accident where I was hit in the rear quarter panel, my 530i seems to be working OK with one exception. The little window above the mileage is blank, where the cruising range is normally shown, and when going into the car data, the "range" display shows a mileage number, but is greyed out and cannot be accessed.

Any ideas of what is going on? I have not yet done a fill, so maybe it will reset when I fill up the tank in the next few days.

Legal man, get legal help! Whoever repaired your vehicle should have fixed it to standard. Your are still under warranty, right? Drop it off at the dealer and don't take no for an answer.

Good luck... Personally I think the range scale is a great tool.

What happens if your press the BC button on the turn signal indicator control a few times?

It's a long-shot but you might want to try resetting both MPG readings to see what happens...

Thanks for the tips -- I will fill up with gas, and if it does not reset, I will try the tips. As to dealer/repair shop responsibility, I do not have any doubt they would take care of it - I just think it may be an easily correctable glitch.
