Is it unusual for a BMW dealer to charge $50 per visit for warranty work done under the CPO warranty? I haven't reached the 50k mark yet so it's still under factory warranty. I just don't want to be surprised.

Doesn't sound right. Do you have a copy of the warranty, does it say anything about a fee for visits? If there is such a fee it should be laid out in the warranty information you were given.

This is where it gets complicated. I bought the car in CA and I live in TX. On the Vehicle Histroy Report, they have a rubber stamp that says "There is a $50 handling charge per repair visit under the CPO BMW warranty". BUT on the official CPO certificate, there is nothing about a $50 charge. I think this pertains to the dealer where I bought the car at and not where I am going to get it serviced at.

I've seen it on Infiniti CPO cars... not sure about BMW. And it was that amount too. $50. So its heard of... so I guess thats somthing to look out for if I ever get CPO coverage or extended warranty for the car.

There is definately a $50 fee each visit for CPO claims, I don't know exactly where it is stated. I work at a BMW dealership as the warranty admin. Every dealership that has a CPO claim and is submitted must have a $50 deductible. Regardless who pays, the service advisor or the customer must pay for it. If a part is ordered and the $50 is paid, the second visit for the actual repair, the $50 is not charged due to initial complaint.
