I about 22hrs from now, I should be pulling out the dealers lot with my CPO '05 545i. My wife and I are flying into San Francisco to pick her up and we are going to drive it back to Houston (1900 miles away). Good thing I don't have to worry about breakin period.

Congrats . . . but are you serious about driving it back to Houston, Texas? Update your location in your signature/Avatar. You must have gotten a really good deal to fly to SF and drive back to H-town. Takes pics on your way back. You do know it cost about $1000 to safely ship the car, right? What's your motive?

Motive? Well, we were planning to take short July 4th weekend trip anyways. Figured it would cost just as much in hotel, airfare and fuel if I had it delivered to Houston.

Have fun on your trip back to Houston, and don't forget to bring along a radar detector. Give a full report when you get back.

If you're going to head down hwy 5 and over to 10 all the way east, you're going to get some good straights and twists. The sun rises on the east and sets on the west, so time your trip to see the best sunset or sunrise road warrior.

Well, here it is before the 2000 mile road trip.

I fully understand why they call it the "Ultimate Driving Machine". The Nav, HUD, Sunshade, and all the other cool stuff made the trip sooooo much better.

Wow, that is an awesome pic. Car looks beautiful. Would like to hear about the drive back if possible. More pics too. (Don't ask for much, do I?) Enjoy!
