Great times. Do you know the weather/altitude conditions for this pass? What was your rollout? And, what pitch setting did you use? Finally, were all your passes the same direction?

check out this thread, you will see cobradav explain his runs a bit, sometimes its good to be a rocket scientist!!!!....

...did they pull all the wheels off the car?? funny, i had this same prob on my 6er fixed this week, just got her back last nite....it took them 3 tries to find it, visual inspections didnt work at first, they just topped off the oil and it would take about a month before it would leak out enough to set off the sensor...my was a valve block, which is a pressure sensor, if you get the error again, have them check this

According to my invoice they removed all underboddy splash panels to facilitate a visual inspection to confirm or rule out leaks; no mention of removing wheels.

Whose passes are you reporting on--yours or cd's? I am confused. Here are the first posts related to cd's passes. See posts 423 to 432.

What's funny about "rocket scientist?" I think I have slipped into the twilight zone here.

I dunno... cuz back then in the what? 70's 80's there were actually "Rocket Scientists" but now that term isnt use anymore... so i thought it was funny...

But I do know that cobradav is literally a Rocket Scientist...

Oh, I see. But, these days we still say, for example, "it doesn't take a rocket scientist to ...." So, I didn't understand what was funny. And, I see that m630 is reporting cd's numbers. I don't get that either. Maybe I need sleep.

Ok another run today. at 78 degrees and at sea level.

We did a couple runs today. Some numbers.

brian1225's 550i Step.

Running on almost a empty gas tank.

0 - 60 mph 5.7 sec
0 - 90 mph 11.5 sec

My IS 350

Running on just a tick under 1/2 a tank of gas

0 - 60 mph 5.15 sec
0 - 90 mph 10.88 sec

The numbers are kinda weird... the IS 350 and the 550i Step during head to head runs are pretty even. Really not much difference. even up to 110 the most any car got ahead of the other car was at most half a cars length. They're very well matched... So No idea why brian's numbers are that high compared to the IS's

Also for some reason times were a bit slower today. maybe it had somthing to do with the weather... I think I had more gas in it today than last time too...

Even Joe's 545 SMG with AA ran slower than last time...

So a few runs against brian1225's 550 step from a stand still. twice I missed the start by a little I hit the gas a little after the honk instead of right AT the honk. so Brian got a little jump on me. From the looks of those runs I think the 550i step pulls a little on the IS 350 in first gear... my hood was at his drivers side door by the end of first gear and then once second gear hits the IS 350 catches back up and his hood is by the middle of my hood and for about half of 3rd gear it looks really even no one gains and then the 550 starts catching back up in the upper speeds like middle of third gear ish... Both runs were pretty similiar to this.

Another run that we ran and I actually started off correctly at the same time it looked better... pretty even. but then we had to shut down. Might not have even hit 60 mph...

So conclusion... it seems like the 550 can get a slight jump on the IS in first and then the IS pulls and catches back up in second and some of 3rd... and then the 550 will catch back up again in 3rd+...

Nice run. Looks like Lexus has a winner in mating the 3.5L 2GR-FSE V6, 306 hp engine with the IS... dont mess with it in a straight line if you see one.

Now that they're putting this engine in the GS... making the GS 350 it'll really stomp on the 530s and 525s... 535 and 550 shouldnt have a problem with the GS 350s and we'll see how the GS 450h fairs.

Nice times EBMCS03! I suspect this is showing that you've got the launch technique nailed. The 5.7 time from Brian is down from those we've seen for the 545 (couple of sub 5 times on here and as low as 5.2 on mag tests) and the only 550 mag result to date was 5.0 dead (which was with a manual but on the 0-60 dash the step should match if not beat the manual) - but Brian's 550 should at least match those. Clearly on the day it didn't - but are the timers set up right? Sounds like the numbers didn't quite match the driving results which sounded even.

Joe, did you do any runs with brian at similar speeds as last time? If so, were the results the same?
