Coolest thing I learned this week about SMG

I guess it pays to ready your owners manual. But did you know that you can tow start, aka jump start/coast start an SMG BMW.
I thought that was pretty cool. I've seen it done with Hydrolic construction equipment, but never thought it could be done with one of our cars. So if my starter ever starts going out, you'll find my car parked at the top of the closest hill.

The SMG is a manual tranny with a cluth, so it doesn't surprise me.

I learnt after 60-70k km you can begin to worry about your SMG

Install the Quaife LSD buddy and your SMG will become an SMG3

when i had smg on my previous car i didnt really appreciate it, but looking back on it i think my next bmw will have it again. I love the manual trans but the next bmw will be for the garage so i think smg all the way, hopefully on an M

I dont have a SMG, but this is what I want in my next car. Thanks for sharing the tip.

the LSD is so expensive. I wish there's a cheaper solution. And Dinan's final gear ratio, is it really worth it???
