I checked the e90 thread you mentioned. It seems we have a few non believers. As I already posted,I checked my GT2 against an NHRA santioned drag strip to verify its accuracy.I hope to get a few more comparisons on 10-27.I agree with you,the 335 will probably be a little faster than a 545.However it may take a little time and some experimenting by a 335 owner to better my times. The only test I have seen so far on the 335 was a 13.6 1/4.I have at least 25 runs that are better than 13.6.Maybe you can get someone with a 335 to join in your "fun nights"
EBMCS03, heezy545i, and I have been going over to e90post trying to round up 335 owners for some friendly spirited driving adventures. I would love to know exactly the 335's capabilties in stock form.

Im not doubting anyones times... Im just saying Gtechs are off sometimes thats all. Based on my testing....The problem with the Gtech is that it get affected by wheel spin. The more you get wheel spin off the line the shorter the time and higher trapspeed will be shown. Spinning tires will just throw it off more.

Not all the meters i tested were off... The Tazzo was on the money. It was showing almost the same times on the 1/4mile strip. If you want to test try the Tazzo.

I have not found this to be true with my experiences. My best times are with zero wheelspin. When I have significant wheelspin both my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are worse. The speeds do not seem to vary. This is as expected.Wheelspin affects your et, but horsepower affects your speed. If you have too much wheelspin your et will suffer but your speed should not change significantly.I have found with my 545 step that zero wheelspin gives me the best times. Some cars require some wheelspin for best times, but not the 545 step.

5.23... not too shabby... i want to see under 5!!!!! Come ON!!!! Hows the clutch holding up?
I'm trying eric The clutch is still functional. For now... I'm having too much wheelspin, and the back keeps sliding around everywhere.

What rpm are you using off the line?I think you need to keep wheelspin to a minimum for best times.Try slipping the clutch a little then go full throttle.

You should've seen me on Friday night/Saturday morning! I started a launch and fishtailed like crazy. Didn't help that the road was a bit wet from the rain from earlier in the night. I'm telling you if we ever get our wheelspins under control good launch times will come.

There is no clutch pedal to slip. We have SMG. The Acceleration Assist (AA) drops the clutch at 4500rpm. I think that hollywoodtrash and I can get better times without using AA.

Yep, my Pro RR results are completely consistent what you are saying. And, I emphasize that zero wheel spin, or maybe just a tiny amount of wheel spin, has always been best for me. With more that just minimal wheel spin, I might as well forget about a decent time to any speed or distance.

For anyone unfamiliar with my car, below are my best five passes. They certainly are competitive with those of any known 335 or 550i. However, I have not tested my metered results against actual drag-strip pass results

Adjusted for Weather and Altitude to 500'--Best Five Overall Tests:

..............................#1................#2 .............#3.............#4............#5...... ...Average
1/4 Speed...........104.646......105.098.....106.396.. ...106.518....106.110....105.747
1/4 Time...............13.483........13.497......13.37 0.......13.415......13.423.......13.438
0 to 60...................4.988..........5.004........4 .867........4.915........4.929.........4.941

(Altitude?1,600?; DS-mode; DSC/DTC off; Pro RR meter; 1? rollout; 91 octane; Tries for Minimal Wheel Spin using Minimal Brake Torquing)

Znod,
A few new and potential 335 owners are under the impression that they will easily take down the 545. I think that the 545 will give them a tough time. I would love to have some 335s in the line up for the next Socal Launch Meet. Thus far none have come forward.

My bad.I forgot you guys have smgs.I hate to be the bearer of bad news but as long as you have a lot of wheelspin your times will suffer.
