You hear that ...he said EASY!!!!

I set that person straight. No flames, just the right information. I even included a link back to this thread.

No flames or anything, but a G-Meter is not a good device to measure with. I have tested the old Gtech, Gtech Pro and Tazzo on a 1/mile track and the Gtechs were waaaaay off. 4-5mph and .3-4 off. They made me feel better on the road until i got a reality check at the real strip.

Go take your car on a real drag strip and if you duplicate those numbers. You will see what i mean.

If you dont have a track around you... I would test with Tazzo. It was the closest device to the real times.... It was off in the 60ft only and within tenths of the real time and same mph.

But with the same G-Meter and set up properly you can make a relative comparison on which car is faster.

Just came back from a new 0-60 run using VT's G-meter

temp was 61 F
1/4 tank of gas
used AA

0-60 time 5.23

Did not complete a quarter mile. Still not as good as my best time, I guess i'll try again tomorrow or Thursday

I don't know why you got such bad results with all these meters.I checked my GT2 against the timers at Maplegrove Raceway in Pa(NHRA sanctioned). The biggest diff was at 330'(.047 sec). The 1/4 time was only .009 faster on the GT2 than the drag strip time. The 1/4 speed was .29mph faster on the GT2 than the drag strip.About 2 years ago Car & Driver tested about 6 of these meters.Their results showed they were all pretty accurate when set up properly.Possibly the meters were not set up for the car you were testing and not calibrated per the instructions.I've found the GT2 to be very accurate when set properly.I am going to maple grove again on 10-27.I will check the GT2 on several runs and post the results. The last time I went I only made 1 run before it rained.

Grogan545,
Thank you for replying! I am currently participating over in the e90post.com thread: http://e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33221. Some believe that the 335 will easily best a 545. I begged to differ and presented your reuslts as proof. Of course, there were critics of your results and they believed that only magazine times as the gold standard for the best times a 545 can achieve. My claim is that normally a stock 335 perhaps will beat a stoch 545 but not by much.

I checked the e90 thread you mentioned. It seems we have a few non believers. As I already posted,I checked my GT2 against an NHRA santioned drag strip to verify its accuracy.I hope to get a few more comparisons on 10-27.I agree with you,the 335 will probably be a little faster than a 545.However it may take a little time and some experimenting by a 335 owner to better my times. The only test I have seen so far on the 335 was a 13.6 1/4.I have at least 25 runs that are better than 13.6.Maybe you can get someone with a 335 to join in your "fun nights"
