any news?
i have the same problem with my 525ia 05.
i recently added a dension 500 gateway and thought that could be the problem, so i bought one of these tools that meassures the amp without breaking the circuit. while measuring, i could see that its draining about 7 amps for almost 40 mins before the car enters sleepmode.(should only take 16 minutes)
after the car went to sleep, i could hear this mechanical sound every now and then from the trunk or close to it. every time the sound came, the amps spiked, so i did like you and pulled the fuse to the fuelpump, sound disapered, but still spiked the amps.

now im in the same boat as you, but i have no idea where the SGM is located. also i have yet to try and pull the airbag fuse as my battery went flat again this morning, will try this later on.

tho, my problems occured after i replaced the AC heater blower as i had to connect the power to check i the fan was working propely while the entire mid console was disconnected.
not sure if this could have triggered this tho.

after this i had alot of low or flat battery which again triggered alot of idrive errors, and one of them was an airbag error, but i deleted it as i thought it came as a result of the low battery, never came back either.

I pulled the airbag fuse which made the spike amperage disappear. Not sure if you problem is the same, it is similar yes, but you have things that you messed with. I am going to take a look at the SGM now... though not quite sure yet, what I am pulling from it.. Not sure if its the entire SGM, I guess it is an all or nothing scenario

Pulled the SGM, fuel pump hasn't primed. I am almost convinced the SGM is bad. Wish there was a way to tell for 100% certainty.

Plug it back in , if the draw continues , I think there will be the answer .

I just thought of something , not sure if it will do anything . But pull the battery terminal negative before plugging the SGM back in .. That should reset everything when you reconnect the power .

What will that reset? The SGM module? I was looking at resetting the module before I ventured down the road of purchasing a used one.... Are you saying this should reset it?
