I read somewhere to keep the psi around 36 or 37 during the cold season to prevent flatspotting. If you think about it, colder temperatures make the air contract so a higher psi would help.

I just got home from work... I will let them cool down and check the psi in the morning. If under 36 I will inflate and give that a try getting back to you with the results. BTW, probably the smoothest commute I have ever had in the 545i tonight!!!!

Just ditched the run flats and installed a set of Michelin Pilot Sports A/S Plus tires. I have to say, that the ride is a lot smoother and quieter. It's too soon to give a broader review though.

Well, I brought them up to 36 psi all around and have driven on them for two days...no joy. Still getting flatspotting in a bad way. So much so that I notice a distinct bounce shimmy after only a few hours cool down. When it goes away the ride is awesome, but those first few miles are awful. Any other suggestions?

I've had the DWs for almost two years and run them at 38-40 PSI. Very smooth ride. Although the sidewalls are weaker than the Pilot Sports, they are quite a bit less and the tradeoff is worth it IMHO.

DWS are great but they are not made for agggressive driving, anything pass 90 or reach close like 80+ the tires start to wobble when you turn.. I thought it was my suspension but when I threw my summer tires back on no problems at all.
