I would get the company car and try to sell your 535 and just park it until someone pays you what you want for it - even though the market might be soft, there will always be a buyer.
Or, you can sell your 911 and keep the 535 as your weekend car.
+1 Just drive the company car and sell the 535. Even with 30K miles and 6 speed and soft market, you still should be able to sell it for around $36000 to $38000. Save $$$ for a F10 later, untill then drive the impala. I'll be happy with that.

My feelings...
1. find another job that does not require you to drive that far daily....

2. If the CO is going to dish out out $30+k for a POS , "convince them" to get the BMW

3. Since I know you have not had ANY HPFP issues with your 535I , it may be a collectors idem LOL and should drive the value up!

4.The likelihood of selling it on the open market in Bham would be bad. Most of the 535i's I've seen are driven by younger women or DR's down at UAB ( I know cause I park in the DR. lot down there....) the 6sp will hurt , except if you knew some on in the BMW CCA that could help out , Hummm.

Sad to see you will end up in a Imp, see if you could hold out for the Taurus SHO, or a Hemi Charger....

An Impala. Words elude me at this sad and difficult moment...

A not insignificant decline in your compensation package, from being reimbursed for driving a 535i to being given a POS.

Write back after you have 30K miles on the POS and tell us if still tight and smooth and powerful. Probably have more rattles than a yard full of 1 year olds...

You have my condolences.

Thumbs down

I think your 535, even with higher than average mileage is worth more - here are a list of current 535 BMW's w/ manual trans available - they are BMW certified but that typically adds only $2,000 - $3,000 to average retail

The Impala will come from a fleet program. My company has many sales people with company cars. The company is not involved in my 535 at all...it is mine, and they USE TO pay me ~$0.48 per mile for miles driven to work (customer site). They didn't know/care what kind of car it is...just that it's a personal being driven for business, thus the mileage paid. New policy states that "no more mileage for use of personal cars....BUT....you will now qualify for a company car".

When/If I get serious about selling it...I will contact the BMWCCA. I'll probably take it to Barber's when there is a BMWCCA event or park it in the BMW Car Coral when the Rolex Series comes to Barber's.

You guys are showing dealership prices. Unless he's going to open a dealership, he'll be lucky to get $36-38K from a private party in Alabama.... and, most of Luigi's prices show cars well under 30K miles and they're still dealer's prices....

1. well... you could try to find a new job. You would be the only person in the history of this recession to actually QUIT your job.

2. I am a car snob. I would be pissed about the impala

3. You have the EXACT car I was looking for. too bad I got mine in december.

4. your company paid for your milage? i thougt I had it good with a "company computer" and they pay my cell phone, internet and gym membership.

5. Its hard to get sympathy after you post a pic of your E60 and 911 together

6. I am running out of stuff to list

I guess getting a company car and no more mileage is better than no job. Especially with all of the crap going on these days!

Sell the 535 and rag the shit outta the company car

I did. Sell the Porsche, keep the Bimmer. =) Unless, of course, you're over 50. Then you should sell the Bimmer and keep the Porsche.
