Comfort Access Battery
I can't seem to get a straight answer on this. Is the battery in the Comfort Access key FOB rechargeable? My Dealer says yes, but many on this forum say no. Has a definitive conclusion been reached? If it's not rechargeable, I won't bother trying to recharge it in the ignition slot. I love this forum because its members often have much better knowledge than the Dealers do.

I seem to remember that it IS rechargable. You're supposed to use it in the ignition slot a couple of times/year. When I get home I'll check my manual. I seem to remember reading it somewhere.

at first when it came out I thought it was rechargable too but I think now or pretty sure its not... the battery does have to be changed when its dead. The old BMW key is rechargable... the dealer must have confused the two...

I think I was wrong.
Here's a couple of pages from the 2007 manual. Essentially it's saying the comfort access fob contains "replaceable" batteries. They must be replaced.
