Ok so I started my car this morning and there was a slight ticking noise but once the car warmed up it was gone so what could that be ???? Is my engine garbage ? It's a 545i 90,000 miles

Any other symptoms??? Or are we all so paranoid that something WILL go wrong with every tick, chime and knock? You say a slight tick that then disappeared - I would keep an ear out for it and watch the performance closely.

My 530 and my wife's X3 tick all the time. I've asked about it before and been told all is good. I just hit 77K, ticking still there and car still running might fine. I did burn my first quart of oil, I was a little upset about that. I change my oil every 7500 miles and I'm 1500 away from the next one. I guess I can feed it an extra quart of 5w-30w every once in a while.
