[font="Times New Roman"]It appears that I have a coin somewhere in central console of my 2006 550i. When I apply breaks or accelerate the car, the coin slides. NY dealer says he can open the console to remove the coin and asking for $240.00. He says the coin is at a very sensitive place. Any suggestions?

 

This might be serious, but I find it a hoot! What denomination is it?

while the center console piece look intimidating to remove, they are not that difficult. do you know exactly where the coin is sliding? does it rest in a specific spot?

 

Do a search as very recently the procedures to remove the center console were posted here. Didn't look that difficult and certainly not worth $240.00. Looked like a 15 to 20 min job at max...you dealers rate seems outrageous :thumbsdown:
