Guys - Can anyone answer the following questions, concerning my 2005 530i, Dec 2004 build, with Nav, United States Vehicle?
1.) I supposedly have a iDrive software update to CIP V16.02, which was done to correct a radio function fault. Is there a hidden screen which indicates the CIP version?
2.) I'm considering having the dealer turn on the Daylight Driving Lights. My manual says they are the low beam headlights. Others say they are the passing lights inboard of the headlights. Which are they? If they are the passing lights, are they at a lower intensity, and do they turn off at night when the light switch is in auto, also on positions?
3.) During a very high excessive speed long radius turn on the interstate will the dynamic stability control activate?

1. Nope only the dealer can tell you.
2. For the United States its the inner High Beams, The flash to pass at half intensity.
3. Depends how fast you are going... if you are going fast enough and the car thinks you're going to lose control or if any of the wheels slips enough more than the others yes DSC will kick in.
In a turn your outter wheels do travel a longer distance than the inner ones so if you were technically going fast enough to make the outter wheel travel that much more distance then the inner one then DSC will interfere. Usually that wont happen.

Thanks for the answers. Also do the DRL's turn off when the headlights are on?

How the DRL works with the EU cars ?
On American market cars the dealer can activate or deactivate them.
