I am wondering if anyone has changed to royal purple engine oil. I decided to buy my car at my lease end and now am thinking more long-term. Is it also better to change oil more often than bmw recomends which is a really long time? Is there anyone who has heard or tried royal purple. I have seen some good things about this stuff.
I do an oil change myself for every factory service so I average 7,500 miles between oil changes. When I do it myself I use Red Line 5W-30. I tried it because I had read good things about it and Turner Motorsport uses it. They have worked on a few of my cars. The engine is much quieter when running the Red Line oil. Royal Purple is supposed to have a similar following but I have never tried it.
