So they are the same...That is what I thought, but couldn't find a definitive answer to it. I am getting it probably in the next couple weeks. I am going to put paddle shifters in first....
Thanks

Has anybody else found the the Logic7 audio too left/front for the driver (I did find the buttons to do the fading/balance)?
Which Logic 7 setting are you using?
I found that when the Logic 7 is turned off, and all balance/faders left at center positions.... the imaging is pretty much from the backseat, left side.
When I turn on the Logic 7 processing, the image shifts forward. The Concert setting sounds better to me, because it is less biased towards the center channel. Theater really focuses the sound to the center channel, while Concert gives a wider soundstage. So I prefer to use Concert.
Unfortunately, the Logic 7 processing introduces a lot of artifacts and distortion.... but I just have to live with that because I can't stand listening to audio that sounds like it's coming from the backseat.
The Logic 7 is a good factory stereo.... but that isn't saying a lot. Factory stereos all suck, by default. So.... I guess the best way to put it is.... the Logic 7 sucks, but at least it doesn't swallow.

I'm just glad it isn't Bose.

No, they are not the same. Two different animals. The AUX input jack plugs in your iPod earpiece jack. The MOST kit plugs in the line-out jack, which offers superior sound quality than the earpiece jack. You can control the volume level if you have the AUX jack, using the clickwheel on the iPod. It's not the case with the MOST. With the MOST kit, you control your iPod using the iDrive, or steering wheel controls. There are no controls for the AUX kit; you use the iPod.
The aux input is not actually an "iPod" interface. It's just an input into the car's amps + speakers; you can use it with a 1978 Walkman, if you want, or any other music (noise) source. BTW - there are relatively simple ways of improving the quality of the AUX input quite dramatically, by removing the crappy filters that BMW has put in (officially as a way to manage possible overload; unofficially I suspect so that more people would buy the MOST kit).
On the other hand, as far as I know you can only use the MOST i/f with the iPod, and no other music source.

BMW would be bonkers not to offer integrated iPOD/iDrive functionality in any forthcoming facelift.
Not that it bothers ME in any way!

But you know they won't.
You have NAV so the CD changer is a waste of money and space. The NAV is a DVD changer which is capable of playing MP3 DVDs that you can control using the iDrive although selection of the playlist is crude compared to the capability of the ipod.

Secondly, some of us actually use the NAV, you know? And it does not take kindly to not having the maps in the DVD slot.
