Maybe this external power source thing, was why so many had problems with their Nav Pro upgrade. Either the techs did not connect the car to it, or it had the problems like on my upgrade?

Any words on how long time the upgrades take now?

I've got an interesting info from BMW that a software update shouldn't take any longer than 4 hours.

If it takes longer they don't use the last technology in car updating ( it's called OPPS and speeds up software upload seriously by connecting directly to the fiber optical network in the car ).

It is entirely dependent on how many/what other modules you have installed on the car as the update software trawls the car's comp to see what else is there and updates it accordingly.

It's rather like downloading a service pack from Windows Update - the s/w takes an inventory of your machine first, then you could get a 25MB download, or an 85MB download!

Mine was at the dealer's all day and was supposedly updating for most of that time.

Got the car.
Very happy with the system.
Telephone voice commands are inactive, but should be on again with v12.1 software.
The NAV system seems to be even more precise than the Business one! (lady's voice is different
