Car starts and gets rough and stalls. Have to spray starter pray in air intake and runs smoother. Then after a while just revs up and down slightly but rough.

Have checked by nearest BMW Service, don't take that part literally.

Its also highly possible that the more they dive in deeper, they could be uncovering more stuff. At least my indy mechanic admits that to me. You could still have more faulty items in that general area , i.e. disa valve, throttle body, intake seals, maf, etc etc.

Other stuff could be gunked up as well, especially if you've often used cheap fuel.

Fuel is good in Australia. Always use the top of the line fuel. Has fuel injector cleaner in it. The fact they haven’t found the problem is worrying. They’re supposed to be able to diagnose and find it. Not just keep replacing parts. My car doesn’t have a MAF near the intake hose, it has a temp sensor there. Always has been there.

After they did repairs it started messing up. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I have an N52. There's [a lot] of stuff to take out to get to the intake manifold, and the maf is one of them.

It makes sense to me, because like I said, you dig deeper and you can uncover or damage more things the more stuff you touch.

I know, but could that cause it? The seals don’t look great at all.

It definitely will cause a shake. It can't seal when closed
