What did the dealer end up doing? My car is doing the same thing 04 530i with 74k miles on it. I had the plugs changed before I bought the car, but we are still having the studder.

i have a similar situation with the jerking. but this is when im at a low speed. for example when i slow down to pull into my driveway and i slowly accelerate and then it jerks. is this normal? should i expect this from a v8?

I?ll say plugs.

Another issue that could occur, but usually on cars with many miles on them, and give the same jerking behaviour.
Contaminated injectors.

At low load the injectors have very short opening time. If the injector is the slightest contaminated it will not give a appropriate fuel mist and spray pattern, instead it will have small fuel drips in it. Or the spray pattern is missaligned.

Fuel/air mixture will not be sufficent and missfiring or bad combustion will occur. Not like it will caugh and limp, but just as much noticable as jerking.

In that case, try cleaning additives in the gas. If that not work you?ll have to use ultrasonic cleaning.

What is the recall fix? If you are referring to a software update, I'm not sure if it will fix the problem. I have a relative who's worked for BMW Service for decades told me that this is a common problem for the 5 series. There should be a fix later on this year.

My car is jerking very lightly when i go from 40-45mph and only at that speed.. does anyone know what could be causing that???
Your tires are not in balance. The syndrome is at it's worst at 90 km/h.
20 inch what ever wheels and tires - very typical.

The warranty has nothing to do with the after market wheels/tires, sorry.
