Correct. Clicking with the iDrive on the circled icon will stop guidance. That is how I do it in my car.

Disconnecting to battery or dumping virtually any sort of liquid on the iDrive screen will also stop the navigation function

press the voice command and SCREAM OUT "STOP GUIDANCE." Or go to navi screen and click on the address and it will give u the option. Use the voice command. It's great and can do everything! I tried track 5 and it goes to track 5! I'm gonna try some other things in the future like when I'm on cruise control, i'll say faster. LOL
I always forget about voice commands for such things! thanks for the reminder, so much better than waiting for the lagging Idrive menu.

On this screen, push Idrive wheel towards left, then rotate cw 1 click, then push down once.

Voice command "Stop/Start Guidance" also is great. Thanks Brabus .

To turn the navogation voice off, the command is "Navigation Voice Off". To turn it back on, just say "Navigation Voice".

Not so easy with a Scottish accent.

If I say "Stop Guidance" the trunk opens.
