Default Rear center seatbelt help for an OCD

Near the middle of the rear seat is a cutout that looks like the perfect size and shape for the middle seatbelt female end to go. However, the female end of my middle seatbelt has a short rigid piece of nylon webbing that won't permit it to go anywhere near the cutout. This is driving the OCD in me absolutely bonkers. I know, first world problems. I have looked at parts 72117059774 and 72119133665 and don't feel much wiser. They look like they might fit if flexible and/or angled correctly, but mine certainly doesn't. Anyone experienced this and know if the female end is actually supposed to go there? It's an 08 E60 sedan, Thanks!

I seem to recall that once I removed the rear seat bench and got it back in and the middle seat belt female part wouldn't sit right into that cutout in the seat. I have to remove the seat bench again and pay attention that the middle belt didn't get bound up.

I have pulled the rear seat and nothing is interfering with the seatbelt. It is simply attached with an extremely short rigid strap. Maybe I should be asking if anyone does have an E60 sedan where the center seatbelt does actually go into that cutout?

05 530i. Fits as intended! Have had seat out to change out fuel filter and took my time with alignment when bench seat base was reinstalled.

Thanks, I will pull the back seat and take another look. Any chance you have a picture or part number handy on your center belt?

I really think it is just not pulled out right. I recall now pulling like hell with the seat back reinstalled and I couldn't budge the seat belt. Also remember trying to get my hand under the seat and that didn't work. It was tricky holding up the seat belt and getting the seat back in.

2008 528i here. Center seat belt nests flat in small center seat cutout.

So I went to the back seat when I got off work and noticed.. hey that belt buckle is off to the side a bit.. right by the passenger side back seat. I grabbed it and pulled it past the seat cushion in the crack and put it right into that nice little slot. I did put my finger in the slot to see if there was any latch system or extra metal for car seats.. yeah I have 2 car seats in the back.. but nothing. I didn't notice a tether holding it.. maybe because it's a tight fit in the seat cushion but it slid over and went in.

I have a 2008 535xi
