My friend crashed his 330i going down a hill with snow on his summer tires. $2,000 damage. I was in front of him with all seasons (Turanza) and I saw him skid and spin in my mirrors until he swirved off into a ditch. My point is, I would invest in winter tires and keep them on for the winter.
Personally I think you will have reduced and unpredictable traction on summer tires in cold temperatures

You will have NO problems in the feezing cold. I drove many times when temp fell below 25 degrees. No problem at all.
It took a while to heat up the tires but I honestly did not feel any difference when temp were 100 and 25 when I drive normal/gentle driving.
As long as you are not driving in snow, you will be fine.

You should be fine provided you do not drive like an idiot. Take corners very conservatively and watch out for black ice. Drive safe
