Which cable to use
#1
Guys,
I need to run a new set of cable from rear fusebox of the car (fuse #77, you guess) all the way to the front driver side. Its is fused 10amp but I am not sure which cable to use for that? I don't want to run a thick cable but at the same time I don't want to risk fire due to running too thin cable.
I will assume that if its fused 10amp I must use a cable which can handle 10+ amps. Look at the red squared number in the attachment which I have taken from WDS it read 0.75, is this mm? If mm from AWG specs it falls between 20-21 AWG which has specification for 1.5 amp for power transmission. I personally feel that 20awg is too thin to carry 10amps.
Its quite risky to go for thinner wire as I risk fire (which won't be insured). What do you guys suggest here.

You are absolutely right that 0.75 will never carry 10amps. Also remember that fuses are at about twice what the wire is supposed to carry if not then the fuse would keep tripping.
Also 10 amps is a LOT of current. Are you sure you really want 10 amps up front. Are you planning on putting an Amp of something there.
You also need to look at the length of the cable, longer the run thicker the cable needed.
You are looking at 10-12awg.

Bruce,
This is for hud mate. 10 awg will be too thick and impractical. When I look at eBay for 0.75mm cable I find them claiming for 13 amp power supply cable. I think awg spec is high rated or we have to go for chassis rating column.
