My Ride: 2005 525i
How fast are you accelerating? If you push the pedal all the way through, down to where it clicks, it will shut off the AC to give you max acceleration. Also, if the engine is running really hot, it will start getting rid of heat through heater system. At that point I would assume you'd be getting warnings on the dash too.
And about the valves could that be an issue?

as far as i know, there is no temperature gauge - direct or indirect - on the dash.
if you are referring to the dashes on the high end of the tachometer, those are to give you an indication of the safe rev limit based on whether or not the engine is at operating temperature.

Yes those are the hash marks I'm referring to. Mine only has about 3 when I drive. I don't know what's considered normal or not with those.
When I have the Max AC on I don't get this issue, it's only when I don't have the Max AC on just the AC.
