A/C switch off question

alright, i feel very embarrassed asking this newbie question... but, here goes:


is it preferrable that i switch off the A/C before switching the engine off?

Maybe 20 years ago, I used to switch off the AC on every shutdown, but then the AC control switch broke and I had to have the entire control head replaced. Since then, I leave my AC on all the time.

Furthermore, I have learned that the car will disengage the compressor when the air in the car is at or cooler than the temperature selector knob(s) indicate, even if the AC button is on. So you can really go around with it on all the time, and you won't even be using it, necessarily.

Well I don't think this will be an issue. But in the states I shut the AC off a few min before I get home so that the AC has time to dry off which I have found helps with the mold and smell that people complain about
