I think if you have AUTO on it will set AC on but set the AUTO off then I dont think the AC will turn on..

 

I had the same damn issue. It got annoying to the point I had to take it in to the stearlership. They replace some electrial module in the center console and since i still have my warrenty it was covered. Only $50 bucks ductable

 

Why don't you share with everyone what it was that was replaced and contribute to the thread.

I have had this problem for a few years actually but it has never bothered me to simply turn it off but occasionally I'll double take and it comes back on. funny thing is that it never miraculously turns itself off just on. I have always read and IHKA error but I don't worry about what it is to even check it. All BMWs on the road have shadow errors that do not cause any warning lamps.

 

Have had this same issue myself. It seems to have gotten worse though. Before It would turn on by itself once and I would simply turn off. Gradually I've had to turn it off more than once. For instance today Im pretty sure I had to turn off 20 something times and finally it did bother me.

Is it malfunctioning or is it suppose to turn on automatically for some reason? AUTO button is not on and LED light is off.

 

I would love to help, but I live in Houston, so I've never turned it off.
