Getting gas today, I noticed I got Bridgestone Potenza, for the life of me I can't figure out if I got the RFT with my sports pkg or did the dealer switch them. Anyone else have Bridgestone potenza rft with my05 530??? That could be why I don't have noisy tires ehhh???

I think I recall a mix of Dunlops and Bridgestones even on 2004 MY cars. I'd say you got lucky -- hopefully the 'stones are quieter than the Dunlops...

It's been raining so much out in LA, had the car for about 2 weeks. Baby is still dirty and wet. Got give it a good coat of Zymol "creme" too. I looked up the tire at tirerack and they got pretty good reviews from others.

From tirerack.com:

"The Potenza RE050 is an Ultra High Performance Summer tire designed to complement the performance of sports cars, sports coupes and sport sedans. While the Potenza RE050 is used as Original Equipment on the supercharged Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG sedan, a Potenza RE050 Scuderia version is used on the 12-cylinder Enzo Ferrari supercar, and a Run Flat version is used on the BMW Z4 sports cars and 5-Series sedans. The Potenza RE050 was developed to provide good traction along with responsive and predictable dry and wet road handling. It is not intended to be driven in the snow."

It states that they are OE for BMW 5series.

Will the dealer have a heart attack if I request these tires over the Dunlops (which are probably are already mounted on rims)?

Has anyone gotten the dealer to replace the Dunlop run flats for something else, before taking ownership of the car?

Leonard.
