breaking traction

You can't compare Italian cars to German cars . Italian cars are much more fun to drive , which always results in a shorter lifetime of the vehicle and all its components. Usually the clutch on an Italian car is ultra aggressive (on/off feeling) compared to other countries.

Well keep in mind... your fiat is a Front wheel drive? so when you are accelerating all the weight goes to the rear of the car which makes the front a lot lighter and hence no weight up there... Much easier to spin the wheels.

On the other hand... the E60 is a rear wheel drive with those nice wide 19" wheels (I assume they are wide since they are 19"s) and grippy Michilins its harder to chirp them. The weight during acceleration is all thrown to the rear all pushing down on those 19"s... makes it stick to the ground more.

Well, the DSC is designed to prevent a certain amount of wheelspin so this isn't a big surprise. Mine will chirp in certain situations with all the electronics engaged, but will do it more when disengaged. Mine is the N52 engine though.

Well thanks guys i kinda figured it may be those sticky azz Michelins as well as that CDV oh well i guess ill have to wait till we get all the latest info on that chip upgrade that one of the other members is talking about.

are you sure you switched of both systems, becasue you have to hold on to the dsc button for more then 3 secs to turn everything off. But you probably know this

yeah i have done it both ways with traction off and then held it until both go off

Couple of days ago,I hold the dsc button aprox 10 sec,I floored in SD mode,and at the gear change i heard tyre noises a diesel,a auto one!
PS: i have factory wheels style 122 ,17" with runflats

Get the CDV removed now! $35... http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm Plus install... if you can do it yourself... then its just $35.
