Just got back from a little drive. By accident I hit 5000 rpm again. It happens so quickly! I'm starting to get the feel of this car after about a week. It handles very nice. Not a laser, but a great combination of performance and luxury. I couldn't be happier. Wait, yes I could. I could have the break-in period over and give it the gas and get that "Good Lord Almightly!!" feeling Roleez references.
yesterday..i hit about 4900 for a fraction of a second. i am pretty good following the breakin..but it just happened yesterday. Also, another time, i had to break quickly..and a bit harsh...an object got on the way and I had no choice.

I am feeling everyone's pain here as well. I am at 800 miles and it is killing me to make it to 1200. I haven't gone about 4500rpm, yet, but have come close. I have been 95mph, though. This car wants to go.
I will probably take it to 5000rpm and then at 1200 miles, it all she wrote! I will change the oil myself at 1200 and cut the filter. Did that on my 545i, and found all sorts of little shavings in it. I will take pictures this time. The filter really works. I already have my filter for the 550i, in hand. It is different than the 545i filter, go figure. Different part number and about $5 buck more. I can get the 545i filter at Bavauto for $9.99 each. The 550i filter is $14.99. I payed $24.99 at the dealer, though.

400 more to go! Sometime next week I will be flying!
