I put the key in the on position I press the odometer button I get the menu I go to the front brakes press and hold again I get the RESET? I release and press It goes from -9000 to ______

I couldn't reset mine myself at all, so I had the mechanic that installed the brakes do it for me free of charge through the Autologic tool (I think that's what its called). Since its really kind of the fastest easiest way, I recommend you just do that instead frustrating yourself with the reset that may, or may not be successful. Just my 2 cents

Wow, that's really weird. I reset both front and rear a few weeks ago without any issues. Is iDrive reporting any issues?

Well guys, I replaced front brake pads today and I also had hard time resetting the brake sensor using the instructions given in forums.

Then I tried it 3-4 times and it actually worked , just make sure you are following the steps properly.

I was getting that ______ for first 2-3 times and then I got 40000 for my new brake pads.

Just keep pressing the tachometer button until you see your red brake sign goes orange and it displays 40000 in the window below.

Good Luck
