Default Brake question

I have done Complete new M5 brake upgrade a few days ago. I do not feel a big improvement over the 545i brakes. When coming to complete stop it make annoying zzzzzz sound. not squeal. And the pads are not completely covering the rotors. I do not know if this supposed to be like that. Someone who has the M brakes please respond.

It could be that the shims/hardware are not aligned right. The contact/wear of the pad looks normal to me. Maybe others can chime in

Drilled rotors can give you the whiz noise. The 2-3 mm on inboard face of rotor looks normal to me too.

Thanks for response. I see that this is the way they work. I am driving MB S550 with front drilled rotors and they do not make that kind of noise. Maybe because it only have fronts?
That rusty lip also looks ugly. Looking to other performance cars with big brakes but never seen that rotors had that lip. This was waist of money to get just BB look as others have admitted. I wish I had gone with original setup. But it is late now.
