I went down to Boston for the weekend and left my car parked in a garage for 5 days. On my return, the brake pedal was rock solid, wouldnt move at all when I pressed it to turn the key...once the car started it became soft again. This happended again this morning. Car drives and brakes fine otherwise. Is this normal?
Cheers

As others have stated, nothing to worry about. Happens once in a while on my car. Seems to be if I haven't driven it for a couple of days or the weather changes more than a few degrees colder. I mentioned it to my SA when I was in for a brake flush and a couple of other things and he said it's normal.

Pretty everytime I get in the car the brake pedal is very hard to press.
Whether the car was parked over night, or just for 5min.
I will mention it to my SA at my next visit. I am suspecting a vacuum check valve as mentioned in this post for the e90.
I will try to find out if the e60 uses the same components.
