this topic has been regurgitated countless times? however, this is total BS! their whole ad campaign is on the premise of ZERO dollars spent during maintenance period! i don?t think i ever read a mileage disclaimer for maintenance on their sales brochure...
you have to shop different dealers? some are willing to help you out. i had my battery changed even though i had low miles.

I had a battery replacement under warranty done at Prestige BMW in NJ, and I could not be happier overall with the service I get at Prestige. I think on average there were more than 7500 miles/year on my car (2005 545i), although I bought my car a year earlier and had only put, in that time, about 5k miles on it.
I don't know if that helps, as there were no questions asked when it turned out the battery was dead. My experience with Manhattan BMW is that they are strictly by the book when it comes to warranty issues, whereas other dealers will go out of their way to argue for you a little bit to keep a customer happy.

do you know that BMW will not cover for your battery if you drive less than 7500 miles per year?
and it cost $475 including parts and labor for OEM battery

Can anyone, please, scan a part of this legal contract?
In EU that would never ever hold!
If there's a layer amongst us and has nothing much to do,
there's a case to make, if this is really true.

I would try to be getting other work done at the time. I'd bet that if you just call them and ask the question, they'd probably give you the company line...
all because i have low mileage on my car
now, guys, at least now all of you know it is not 100% good to have low mileage, 99% good, 1% bad for battery not cover
tell you the truth, it really surprised me when i was at BMW of Manhattan

That sucks.
I never understood why anyone would want a car if they lived and worked in NYC.
The thought of the traffic, parking, insurance, theft, vandalism, pot holes, stupid pedestrians, tolls, etc. are just too much for me to handle.

you might be right, but since the car has only 3700 miles, not thing wrong besides car wont start, and BMW of Manhattan said if they check the car, it will cost me $150, if i decide to change the battery, of course they waive $150 but charge $475 for parts and labor

But it may be a quick and easy sale for customers who don't push back (in a professional and courteous fashion).

My next call would be to BMWNA - Battery deficiencies, esp in low mileage cars, are well documented. The electronics in BMWs another techno-loaded cars are voltage hogs!

second, why they charge $150 just to check the car? isnt it free to check and make sure car works fine? they only waive the fee if i change the battery, with the car only 3700 miles, this is BS, really BsMachine
