My Ride: X5 3.0
Angry 05 X5 built in 11/04

The idiot light went on in my X5, I took it to my buddy Bob (he's great) He researched it and said there is a Technical Spec Sheet saying there is a recall on it. I called up the Stealership and they said there is no Recall on my vehicle and no warranty. They said it'd be $100 to check it out and $675 for the part and If I bent over and got it fixed there, they'd take the $100 off the repair(so magnanimous eh?)
I hung up and called BMW of North America, they said if I took it to the dealer and paid the $100, since I was the original owner with low miles 70K they would evaluate the info from the dealership and may cover the repair, but it would be on a case by case basis, and it may not be covered.

THIS IS NOT THE WAY I EXPECT TO BE TREATED AFTER PAYING OVER 50K FOR A PREMIER VEHICLE FROM BMW

I know it can be annoying, but it always amazes me how some people expect to be cared for their entire life. If you bought a Ford and had a two year warranty you would have been long overdue and paying for repairs much earlier. I am sure an extended warranty was offered, perhaps you should have taken it.
