Well, I did exactly what pi$$es me about other posts....I shot from the hip without checking with BMWNA. I relied on my dealer and 2 other E60 owners, all of whom swore that the emergency locator service remains active even if your subscription ends. BMWNA told me I'm wrong. Once your free year is up, it's sayonara to BMW Assist. Sorry for the misinfo.
