I think its a poor service. All that talk about concierge service and directions is BS. The air bag notification is about the only real utility of this service, but you will notice on the iDrive display that the integrated BMW phone frequently has no signal. I dont believe a head-on at these times would afford you the potential saftey benefit.

I wouldn't respond to BMW or let them know that you received the letter. If they cancel airbag notification systems without ensuring that they have notified the driver, they would be in hot water should you have an accident. Let them experience the "hard to get" treatment all of us routinely go through when trying to get straight answers from them. Make them resort to sending you a registered letter proving your receipt.

Its Verizon's cellular network that they use. Now this what I find so strange. and I know this will piss you off Gizmo, but if you push the red button in your pre March 04 build E60, you can have a fully duplex conversation with the Assist representative. Yet reports indicate that the difference between your car and later models is a missing connection for the mic.

I always have signal (that I've noticed). When I have a cell phone in the car, the antenna signal is noticeably less (ie when that signal strength was Cingular or ATT). I didn't realize that this was Verizon - maybe I should go buy a v710?

That is my who thing with bluetooth not being compatible with the cars at roll out like my september 03 production car. If i can not get bluetooth with the tcu that i have, and can't get it with the new tcu because of the wire harness differences, then make some that will intergrate with my car. Or allow me to use the full duplex assist tcu so i can have true hands free in my 50000.00 dollar car. i wish some one would hurry and hack this ibus thing cause bmw na aint thinking about the initial buyers of there milined product, milined by the press anyway

be sure to flash it. Maybe its the sharkfin too. But I agree the Verizon coverage seems better. I like my V3 better though.

Wait a minute, I thought pre 03/04 build cars COULD have Bluetooth, they only need the newer version TCU. I didn't hear anything about a WIRING HARNESS. What's up? I have a 10/03 build.
