Did you order it here in the States - I didn't know you could order them already - plus the R6 engine is just a double bonus. Let me know who your dealer is.

No, I'm stationed in Germany and ordered it through a US Military Sales Program. However, we usually can't order anything that isn't available for US sales. I'd press your dealer if you're interested. Only problem, is there's no real literature out yet. They have to add the xdrive as an option to the sales order of a 530i. The tentative cost was $2000 for xdrive. At least here, you always have to order about 3 months in advance, so now's about the time to get the order in.

That is correct .... the 4 points on the X symbolizes the 4 wheels on the car

sounds like a good plan for bmw to offer 4wheel drive...cut into audi a6 quarttaros and mercedes e-class 4matic sales

xDrive

xDrive adds revolutionary intelligence to the BMW performance arsenal. Under the most challenging condition, xDrive delivers variable power to individual wheels, providing tenacious grip and optimum traction. In all conditions, xDrive enhances driving dynamics to extract maximum exhilaration from tight curves and winding roads. The result is remarkably agile handling on any road, in any weather.

All Wheel Drive (AWD)

The all-wheel drive system gives the vehicle added traction in snow, mud, and other slippery road conditions, while maintaining the BMW handling feel. By allocating 38% of the traction to the front wheels and 62% to the rear under normal conditions, the all-wheel drive maintains agile, road-hugging handling, while adding traction capabilities to the front wheels.
