Bluetooth adapters for iPod

My Ride: 2006 525i, Silver Metallic, Black Leather, Automatic, Premium, Cold Weather, Xenons.
I have a general question. Not sure is this is even viable or not so here goes. I believe there are Bluetooth adapters that are sold for iPods to listen to wireless headphones. Can these same adapters be used to pair the iPod with the Bluetooth in the E60 and here music from the cars speakers. Thanks.
