My Ride: BMW 530d SE. Media Package, Sight and Light Package, Front and Rear Park Sensors, Active Steering, Dynamic Drive, Power Folding Dimming Mirrors, Active Cruise Control, Logic 7, Sunroof, Sports Steering Wheel, Advanced Aircon, Comfort Seats, Heated Seats, Oscillating Seats, Air Cooled Seats, Electril Rear Blind, Rear Heated Seats.... probably more that I have forgot! :p
Hi Guy's,
Here is a good one for you.
I have seen on the forums in the past how expensive it is to fix a blown turbo, but what do you think about an Active Cruise Control Sensor needing realignment?.... wait for it!... ?2600.00 thats $5200.00 to those on the other side of the pond.
The story is, went to BMW to get my sensor realigned after confirmed diagnosis for ?375 (3-4 hours labour). After 5 hours waiting the Service Manager comes and tells me that they have tried 5 times to initilise the system and if keeps failing resulting in the requirement of a new sensor.
The damage (exc 17.5% Tax):
1 x Sensor ?1536.17
1 x Sensor mount ?23.58
1 x Alignment labour ?318.00
Plus the ?318 before tax already charged for finding out that they couldn't fix the problem!!! This is after having to travel 100 miles to get to the dealership because they are the pnly ones who had the equipment to "fix" it!
I am so pissed off at present, this is a car that cost ?51k GBP just over 3 years ago.
I have written to BMW customer services about it, do you think they will help out with this?
Cheers.

What... this is not a supprise to anyone! lol I had a Rover 75 once, engine made by BMW, that got replaced at 45k miles. Maybe BWM is not made out to be what it should be. I have had 2 Vauxhalls (Opels) and not one thing went wrong with them.
Hope this is not the start of things to come as I really want to enjoy this car.
