Hi Everyone,
Just got a note from Bentley on Friday 6/18/10 (the original launch date for the manual)

the launch has been postponed a few weeks due to quality control, apparently there were some prints that were not to par.

For those who have pre-ordered.

We and Bentley are sorry for the delay, but I do hope that you can wait for another few weeks.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or Bentley Publishers directly too.

As always, if you paid with a credit card, your are IS NOT charged. And will not be charged until its instock and ships.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Vincent

Does the bentley have good diagnostics info or just how to fix stuff?

On a side note: I have found it a good idea to make a friend at the local BMW dealership that with a good CCA membership normaly gets me printouts of vairous install related stuff and decent prices on parts!

I will be ordering a Bentley. There is no comparison between Bentley manuals and either Chilton or Haynes.

If you are an average DIY person...Buy the Bentley manual.

Probably the best thing to do in lieu of a manual is to accumulate printed copies of the articles found on this site and others on the net. It will be rare that you will have to rebuild a trans or engine so mostly electrics and body are all that's needed.
Most shops have a subscription and it really tells all - that's their living.
