It's $30 for 24 hour access.
Sign up for it then dedicate 24 hours to download all the related PDF

Has anyone tried getting the manual for 24 hours then print it? I'd pay $30 then take the time to print it.

I don't think it would be that easy. There's a ton of pages describing tasks that are linked to pages from other tasks, etc. It's not like you just print all 500 pages of a book or something.

Hi guys so i searched and didnt come up with much. Me being a DIY guy I need to know what is the best repair manual for a 2004 545i. There are a few out there and I wanted some opinions before i decide. Thanks
If you want hard copy such as Haynes car manuals, don't bother with TIS.It is so complex for the average DIY owner I absolutely hate it!
It's obviously geared up for dealer technicians who have attended the necessary training courses.
Even with hard copy repair manuals, they should be used with care,I recall a Haynes manual procedure on a Ford engine that cost me a small fortune due to an error that had not been picked up.

I am way beyond the average diy. Haynes manuals are a joke even for the novice diy. Last time I checked Bentley did not print a manual for the E60 yet. When they do that is the one I would recommend for the average diy.

I have some exepriance with bmw manuals and in the real world I work on airplanes, every part. I'm used to navigating manuals and readin schematics as well as technical jargon. I would find the TIS usefull. I was figuring out the the most cost effective way to get the manuals.

The TIS discs can be really helpful for people with decent mechanical skills. There are discs available for sale on eBay but you have to be careful you get a version that contains information on your model year car. (Some of the eBay auctions are for older disc that aren't always up to date...)

Just to add detail ommitted from my post,my comments on TIS were based on experience with Vauxhall TIS.I would add that examples of BMW TIS on this forum have been straightforward and easier to use.
As regards to Haynes manuals ,I was referring to what was produced from the 60's to the 80's,I cannot comment on their current publications.

Well on a more basic stand point. Is there anything that tells you where, for example the dynamic stability control sensor is? As i removed the panels in the trunk i found devices that i have no idea what they are. One was the PDC, the L7 amp. The most interesting was the fiberoptic line next to the PDC. Im beginning to think that BMW prewires all the e60's the same when they are make and they then add the options later on.

I was at a BMW club tech event held at Bentley Publishers in Cambridge, MA last weekend. They said the new E60 manual was sent to the printers about a week ago, and they had a couple of sample copies of it for us to check out. It will be in hard cover, and is huge (compared to most of their other books). They are offering a pre-launch deal on their web site for the next month or so, I believe, and were taking orders from those of us who were at the event.
