Default bay area E60 programmers for battery registration

It is time to replace the battery. I read all the posts on a good battery recommendations (all the way from Walmart $90+ to Interstate $200+). Once I buy the right battery and install it, is there anyone in the san jose bay area that can help register the battery with the the car? Don't want to pay the stealers $100+ for a simple registration.

BTW, did my first oil change (since the car is out of CPO warranty and free service contract), and the oil was super dirty (dark brown, and very thick) - it had gone 10.5K miles/11months. I am going to go to a 7500mile interval from now on. And to make me feel better, I am going to do a quick oil change in about 1 to 2K miles to help remove any old dirt/oil from the engine.
