Where does the battery vent tube attach in the trunk. The tube on my factory battery is about 4 inches long on the front side of the battery. I can't find where it is to be attached so the H2 gas will be vented out of the trunk. Any pictures would definitely help.
Thanks

Same question here. I finally got around to replacing my battery and noticed the vent tube went nowhere. I figured the battery must of shifted or something and disconnected the tube.
The vent tube was attached to the battery with a black right angle plastic connector but the other end was just pointing down...

Hi - hard to describe, but on my late 2003 E60, the vent goes through the boot floor recess towards the front of the car...beside the positive terminal end - there is a grommet in the body for it to pass through a few inches up from the bottom of the battery "well".

The exit for the battery vent tube (so hydrogen gas doesn't build up in the trunk/boot) is nearly impossible to see unless the battery is removed. That said, be certain that it is securely connected to the battery vent port and exits the trunk.
