We shall see how this goes. I am going to get this service done this Friday.

I have also started getting the infamous "Passenger Restraint Malfunction" error. I have called my dealer and BMW NA and both say my car is not in the specified VIN numbers for recall. I am going to have my indy give me the exact error so that I will know.

I had my positive battery cable replaced two years ago after the "pass restraint" failure warning to the tune of $450. No problems afterwards. Now I'm wondering if the high resistance measured by the car's computer across the battery cable was actually a result of a faulty connection which is what the recent recall is for. Not worth my time or aggrevation contacting BMW NA. Been there before. I'm taking the car in tomorrow due to an increased emissions and engine malfunction fault which occured the same time some settings changed in my i-drive. I'm having them perform the recall work as well and will post if any residual problems occur. My car is an '05 with the original battery so I'm hoping it may be as simple as a battery change although I keep the car on a battery tender when not being used for more than a few days.

I had my recall done in June and recently I've been getting "low battery drainage" appear. I have a 535i 2008 with 58k miles. Battery life should be atleast 5 years, but then again what a considence it started happening after recall was preform

Default No issues I can tie to the recall...

The cable recall went smooth a couple of months ago.

They would not repair the seat mat for the Airbag warning saying my VIN is not included, but the date of manufacture is in the range. Just venting on this.

I'm having Battery Drain issues more lately, but it's colder weather also. Pretty much won't start if I don't drive every day, but sometimes just 2-3 hours it will be dead. I'm sure that something is staying on sometimes, but not always. I was hoping the cable recall would help, but not really any difference that I can see.

I haven't done the recall, but for those of you having voltage related problems, the voltage regulator seems to be a very weak point of the e60 electrical system and a lot fail by about 60-70K miles. Mine did, but it took me quite a while to figure it out because it was a brief intermittent problem that could not be detected by the car diagnostics or my voltmeter. The first alternator I installed as a replacement was a rebuild and the regulator was bad right off. That one was so far gone the car diagnostics and my voltmeter picked it up right away. The second one I installed was new and made a huge difference in electrical system stability. I had been getting occasional errors for all sorts of things from ARS to steering to transmission which are now completely gone.
